St. Rose-McCarthy Catholic School

Superintendent Hanford Elementary Schools (retired)

Joseph Simas

"St. Rose-McCarthy School provided a solid academic experience for my two brothers and two sisters. In addition, it helped steep them in the Catholic faith. As an athlete in the public schools, I had the pleasure of playing for Coach Frank Cardoza in the C.Y.O. football program. From Coach Cardoza, I learned how to play the right way and to compete fiercely. As an administrator in the Hanford Elementary School District, I had a warm personal and professional association with Sister Theresa who was then Principal. Together we coordinated special services for children attending St. Rose-McCarthy School who would have otherwise gone to public schools. In short, I have fond memories and deep respect for the school."
